overview
Photography is a
great way to teach kids to look carefully at the world around them.
Photography is not just about pointing and shooting. It’s a decision
making process. We will encourage their creativity through understanding
the basic concepts of digital photography. These skills will be taught
in an age appropriate and Fun environment using games, activities and
field trips. They will also be taught printing basics, and will bring
home a portfolio of the work they shot and printed during the week. Each
child will have their own Mac and share a 17-inch printer with one
other student. Our goal is to help young people have fun with a
camera, find their own voice and help them tell their story through
photography. We will challenge and encourage them to explore their world
through the camera lens, making the camera an extension of their eye.
We will help them share their perspectives with others. The
children will learn and practice concepts of distance, angle, focus,
perspective and framing a photograph. We will introduce basic image
manipulation software skills to encourage them to further pursue the
exploration of software on their own. What They Will Learn:
