about
Do sushi and tequila go together? That’s the fundamental question raised by Sushi-Teq in the InterContinental hotel, which offers both, and almost nothing else. Sometimes it treats sushi with a tequila-esque party sensibility, with New Age concoctions such as the Pizza de Sushiteq (salmon, tomato, jalapeno, and other frippery on a tortilla) and a roll called the Big Dig, the pieces of which are arrayed in an arch. But Sushi-Teq also has a serious, straight-up a la carte list, with some unusual fish. One would expect nothing less from Toru Oga of the acclaimed Oga’s in Natick, who designed the menu and is a chef here. The tequila’s pretty serious, too — there are about 70 kinds available. As to whether they go well with sushi, that’s a question you’ll have to answer for yourself. (Boston Globe, 9/6/07)
