RIPCO Performs Mahler's 6th Symphony
The Rhode Island Philharmonic Community Orchestra joins with the Farmington Valley Symphony Orchestra in a concert featuring Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 6. This majestic piece requires a large string section and double the usual number of wind, brass and percussion players. The conductor is John Eells, founder and music director of both orchestras, who will be leaving his posts at the end of the current season to move to the west coast. The concert will also include two overtures by Beethoven.
