TheDCH Winter Lecture Series - Recreating Eden: A Preserve for Civilization

Wednesday, Feb 27, 2013 7:00p to 8:00p

Frederick Law Olmsted was dedicated to preservation and green spaces through public and private park designs. From Central Park in New York City to the Emerald Necklace surrounding Boston, to Biltmore and the Chicago World’s Fair, Olmsted’s belief in the civilizing power of landscape architecture design improved the quality of life for generations and defined the goals of a new horticultural profession. A 1st person presentation with images and dramatic re-enactment. Also February 6, 13 & 20.
