"So Beautifully Illustrated" - Katherine Richardson Wireman and the art of Illustration
After studying with Howard Payle, Katherine Richardson Wireman (1878-1966) began her career in 1900 as an illustrator of articles and stories for adults and children, advertisements, fashion features and magazine covers. Especially known for over sixty covers for several popular magazines, Wireman ably adapted her versatile style to a variety of subjects through the mid-twentieth century.
