OLLI New Horizons Band

Have you heard about the OLLI Band yet? Formed two years ago at UNCW in cooperation with the music department, the OLLI New Horizons Band is for folks 50+ who want to play music on their chosen instrument just for the fun of it. “It’s Never too Late” is the motto of the New Horizons Band, a nationwide program that teaches beginning adult musicians how to play a band instrument or get up to speed on instruments that have been sitting in the closet for a very long time. Former high school marching band members are welcomed, too. Each session includes group lessons and full band recitals. A summer concert is scheduled for spring 2010. Instruments are available for rent or purchase.
