For hundreds of years, south-central Pennsylvania was home to eight or more Native American tribes. Their Longhouses -- apartment buildings made of logs, saplings and tree bark -- dotted the landscape for hundreds of years. In some places, like Washington Boro, PA, thousands lived together in towns filled with longhouses. The Lancaster Longhouse, a full-size educational replica of this lodging, is a collaboration between Circle Legacy Center, LMHS and the 1719 Hans Herr House.
