George Inness: Sacred and Profance Spaces

Sunday, Jul 28, 2013 3:00p

Adrienne Baxter Bell, Associate Professor of Art History at Marymount Manhattan College, will examine the recent gift to the Clark by Frank and Katherine Martucci of eight landscape paintings by George Inness. Bell will provide an overview of Inness’ life and work, followed by an exploration of some of the ways that he created a new language of landscape painting that engaged both the sacred and the profane in nature.
