From City to Countryside: The Paintings of Guy Wiggins

Wednesday, Dec 11, 2013 10:00a to 5:00p
Wichita Art Museum Wichita, KS

Guy Wiggins (1883-1962) is perhaps best known for his impressionist paintings of New York City-images that made the viewer feel as if they had been transported into the midst of a whirling snow that purified the cityscape. However, Wiggins also devoted his talents to rendering charming New England landscapes capturing calm harbors, country churches, and rural farms. This display, drawn from the Wichita Art Museum's collection of Wiggins' work, presents his dual subjects of city and countryside.
