Mary Catherine Bateson - Ritual and Relationship
Renowned anthropologist Dr. Mary Catherine Bateson will present "Ritual and Relationship", exploring the ways in which her parents, social anthropology pioneer Margaret Mead and cyberneticist Gregory Bateson, were able to use film to demonstrate the ways in which ritual reflected and reinforced relationships developed in infancy. Bateson will address the utility of this approach in contemporary ethnography.
The lecture will be held in room 100 of Lindquist Hall at Wichita State University.
