Dr. Mark Thorne will deliver a lecture titled "Phos Hilaron, Early Church to Christian Rock: A Cultural History of the Oldest Hymn in Christendom."
Thorne is assistant professor of classical languages at Wheaton College. His expertise is in Ancient Greece and Rome, Greek and Latin pedagogy, and ancient hymns.
Free and open to the public, this lecture is sponsored by the Wheaton Center for Early Christian Studies and takes place in room 534 of the Billy Graham Center.
