GrooveLily  ushers in the next generation of New Folk music, with a contagiously effervescent sound that combines a sharp wit with intelligent original songwriting. Unabashedly combining elements of jazz, folk and… Show more popular music, their vocal harmonies weave through a lush musical landscape textured with keyboards by Brendan Milburn, percussion by Gene Lewin and the blazing electric violin of lead singer Valerie Vigoda.
Valerie Vigoda, lead singer and electric violinist, has toured the world with Cyndi Lauper, Cher, Tina Turner and Joe Jackson. Her gorgeous vocals and electrifying violin performances mesmerize audiences everywhere -- often simultaneously, since her strap-on signature "flying-V" six-string Viper violin allows her to sing and play at the same time.
Brendan Milburn, the pianist and co-writer, is not only an incredible rock and roll pianist, but a masterful songwriter of unsurpassed talent and craft. Audiences cannot help but keep humming his fresh and unforgettable melodies, many of which are destined to becoming standards.
Gene Lewin, the drummer, is often compared to Carter Beauford of the Dave Matthew's Band. Gene is an intricate and exhilarating jazz drummer whose drum work brings out the best in the music he plays.
The trio generate "fun energy" wherever they go and have been actively touring since 1994 with numerous CD's to their credit. In June of 2001, GrooveLilly played the main stage at the Kerrville Folk Festival and took the place by storm. They are in serious demand nationwide and the Coffee With Conscience Concert Series is lucky to have them and incredibly proud to present them!
