How to view search results in a map
The initial results for any search on Zvents are always delivered in list form, so that you can quickly scan the first 10 most relevant results. However, a list often isn't the most useful way to view event information. If you're trying to find events close to an area, or generally understand location information, a map is a far better choice.
We've worked hard to integrate maps into our search results to help you do this. (Thanks, Google!) Here is an initial list result for a search on jazz in San Francisco for tonight:
and you will notice that at the top of the results title bar, you have the choices 'View as Map' and 'View as Calendar'.
Clicking on 'View as Map' will regenerate the search results as a map, which dynamically scales to show you all the results - zoomed in for a closer cluster of results, zoomed out for a wide spread of results.
There is a color-coded key at the bottom, which lists the results corresponding to each colored pin. Each pin is clickable for more information.
In either the key or the popup information bubble, clicking on the event or venue name will take you to the detail page for that event or venue, where you can get complete information.
