How to save a search

In order to save searches, you must be registered and logged in to Zvents. This is one of the many great reasons to register for an account at Zvents.

After you've performed a search that you want to save, click on the 'save this search' link at the upper right corner of the search results area. Note that the saved search remembers whether you were in map, calendar, or list view.

A dialog box will appear, asking you to save your search. This dialog box may look different depending on your browser.

After you enter a search name and click OK (in this example, we named the search 'jazz music') you are transported to the top of your 'my zvents' page, with a message noting that the search was saved successfully.

If you scroll down your 'my zvents' page, you'll note that the search is listed on the right side tree of items that can be viewed in the main calendar area. Clicking on the checkbox next to the saved search shows its color-coded results in the personal calendar area. This result can be overlaid with other calendars (such as your own calendar, or friends' calendars) by clicking on multiple checkboxes.

If you scroll all the way to the bottom of your 'my zvents' page, you will see a list of your saved searches. Clicking the small 'x' icon to the right of each deletes the saved search, and clicking on the search name itself executes the search and takes you to the main search page - in the original results view that you saved.

All saved searches execute dynamically, i.e. if I do a search for 'tonight' on October 5th and then go back and view the results on October 10th, 'tonight' will bring up results for October 10th.
