Set in the kitchen of Lily and Phil's Midwestern home, The Party in the Kitchen explores in microcosm the events of the last decade, revealing how the families of this country navigated the attacks, floods, economic devastation, and wars fought in far away lands. Truths are spilled in the kitchen. Bottles and hearts opened, canapés and confidences are shared, revealing that the things which hold us together are stronger than those which set us apart. Friendship trumps politics. Hope beats back despair. Generosity overcomes fear. And the bonds of friends and family are stronger than any mere global crisis.
