Ms. Neeran Saraf is a senior IT consultant with over twenty-five years of experience in the development and implementation of enterprise-wide IT strategies, architecture and systems. Ms. Saraf is a certified enterprise architect and for the past ten years worked with various size organizations assessing their technology needs and developing a technology strategy that is aligned with their business objectives and needs.
Speakers:
Dr. Denise Bedford: Dr. Denise Bedford is currently the Goodyear Professor of Knowledge Management at the College of Communication and Information, Kent State University. Her responsibilities include: teaching foundational and elective courses in knowledge management, communities of practice, economics of information, semantic analysis, enterprise architecture, business architecture, intellectual capital management, futures research. She is currently engaged in expanding the M.A. program and the future Ph.D. program in Knowledge Management, as well as outreach and support to the national and international knowledge management communities. Her current research interests include knowledge architectures and knowledge engineering, business architecture and business rules representation, document engineering and content architectures, multilingual architecture, search system design/architecture, semantic analysis methods, communities of practice, knowledge transfer, and economics of knowledge. She is also an adjunct faculty member at Georgetown University and University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Dr. Bedford retired from the World Bank in 2010 where her responsibilities included development of the Bank’s core metadata and content type strategies, ontologies, taxonomies and the World Bank’s multilingual topic thesaurus, development and operationalization of the Bank’s semantic analysis technologies, enterprise search and content management architectures. Prior to the World Bank, her employment history included Intel Corporation, NASA, University of California Systemwide Administration, and Stanford University. She is a member of several professional associations including ASIST, ACM, AIIM, SLA, ALA and AAAI. Her educational background includes a B.A. triple major in History, in Russian Language/Literature, and in German Language/Literature from the University of Michigan; an M.A.in Russian History also from University of Michigan; an M.S. in Librarianship from Western Michigan University, and a Ph.D. in Information Science from University of California, Berkeley.
Ms. Unnatti Mishra: Ms. Unnatti Mishra leads Knowledge Management for Manufacturing, Agribusiness and Services Group at the International Finance Corporation, private sector arm of the World Bank Group. She is responsible for devising the knowledge strategy, building knowledge products aligned with the business strategy and and ensuring knowledge flows across all regions and headquarters encompassing 450 staff across the globe. Ms. Mishra is also responsible for KM Governance which entails Implementation of an overall Knowledge, Learning and Innovation Plan and identifying key areas where department has a potential to contribute to new knowledge products. Ms. Mishra has been at World Bank Group for 18 years. Prior to Knowledge Management she was in the Information technology field and is now in the process of blending knowledge sharing with the information technology tools supported by the Bank. She is pursuing her Masters in Information Architecture and Knowledge Management from Kent state University, Ohio scheduled to graduate in August 2015. Ms. Mishra also holds a Master’s degree in English Literature from the University of Delhi, India.
Ms. Monica Matts: Monica Matts is an organizational learning and knowledge management specialist in USAID’s Bureau of Policy, Planning and Learning, Office of Learning, Evaluation and Research, where she supports USAID field missions and offices in strengthening their learning processes and practices. Previously, she served as a senior specialist for knowledge management at Save the Children and a manager at Chemonics International. She holds a Master’s degree in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from American University and a Bachelor’s degree from Washington University.
