One of Handel’s most dramatic oratorios brings to life the rivalry between the Persian king Cyrus and his Babylonian counterpart Belshazzar, as Cyrus seeks to outwit his flawed enemy and free the Jews from captivity. The Gallery Voices, directed by soprano Rosa Lamoreaux, are the resident vocal ensemble at the National Gallery of Art and perform at the area’s most prominent venues.
