Charles E. Smith Center

The Charles E. Smith Center's main arena seats 5,000 spectators and is the home of GW men's and women's basketball, volleyball and gymnastics. Sports fans also have enjoyed the Virginia Slims women's professional tennis tournament, a USA vs. Cuba volleyball match and the USA women's basketball national team.

The Charles E. Smith Center has served as the home of the George Washington University Department of Athletics and Recreation for more than 30 years. The facilities primary use is for Intercollegiate Team Practices and Competitions, Student Club Team Practices, University and Other Special Events. Additionally, the Center serves the neighboring Foggy Bottom community.
