Rescheduled. Professor Soltes' lecture has been rescheduled to next semester, in anticipation of the publishing of his new book 'Famous Jewish Trials: From Jesus to Eichmann'
When do man-made laws separate themselves from divinely-ordained laws and how does the concept of law differ from that of justice? How does that double issue affect our understanding of the trial of Jesus? How have the --false--convictions over the centuries regarding that trial affected Jewish-Christian relations for the last two millennia? How, specifically, do we see manifestations of the 'Jesus' Trial Affect' is in the form of Bllod Libels, the Dreyfus Affair, the Rosenberg Trial and even the Trial of Adolph Eichmann? What are the implications betyond that last-named trial nearly half a century ago?
