Yossi Shain is an academic specializing in international relations, comparative politics and diaspora politics. Yossi received his PhD from Yale in 1988. He formerly headed the political science department at Tel Aviv University. From 1999-2003, he was the 'Goldman Visiting Professor of Government' at Georgetown University. At present he holds a dual-appointment at both Georgetown University and Tel Aviv University.
Dr. Shain has authored the following books:
'Kinship and Diasporas in International Politics' (Michigan University Press, 2007)
'Marketing the American Creed Abroad: Diasporas in the UN and Their Homelands' (1999)
'The Frontier of Loyalty: Political Exile in the Age of the Nation State' (1989; new edition Michigan University Press, 2005)
