The Catalina Island Museum features the 1927 classic film "Metropolis" with organ accompaniment in the historic Avalon Theatre. A Buster Keaton short opens the program.

Award-winning organist Robert D. Salisbury has created an original score for "Metropolis". Salisbury knows the theatre's original theater organ intimately having played it since age 12 (he's now retired and living near Big Bear). The theater's organ is one of only 4 Page Theater Organs left in the world. The feature film "Metropolis" still appears on many critics Top 100 classic films lists and features groundbreaking visual effects. The museum will be showing a gorgeous restored 35mm print courtesy of Kino International.
