  6:00 pm: Doors Open for informal educational programming 7:00 pm: FREE showing of 3D Sun 7:30 pm: Meet the Lecturer 8:00 pm: Lecture begins Dr. Barbara Thompson will further explore the Sun-Earth connection and how it is being studied by the armada of ground-based and space-based observatories that are making more than a global effort, cooperating in the International Heliophysical Year (IHY). She will highlight results from the SOHO satellite mission and will describe how the program "Living with a Star" supports the goals of the IHY. Pre-lecture activities, including Discovery Stations, a film feature, and a "get to know the lecturer" warm-up with the lecturer begin at 6:00 p.m. Free tickets are required and may be reserved at www.nasm.si.edu/tickets .
