$35 per childFREE FOR FAMILY MEMBERSProclaiming the first sign of spring, the cherry blossoms burst into bloom. Be there to capture it on paper! Using pencils, ink, charcoal, and oil pastels, students will be introduced to botanical art by drawing the Yoshino cherry trees and their blossoms around the Tidal Basin. All materials are provided and parents are welcome to observe. Meet at the statue of Jefferson in the rotunda at the Thomas Jefferson Memorial, East Potomac Park. Family Members of the Corcoran: please call 202-639-1770 to pre-register.The Corcoran College of Art Design is an Official National Cherry Blossom Festival Participant.The National Cherry Blossom Festival is an annual two-week, citywide event featuring daily cultural performances, arts and crafts exhibit/demonstrations, sporting events, international cuisine and other special events. The 2008 Festival will be held March 29-April 13. The National Cherry Blossom Festival® celebrates the 96th anniversary of the gift of the cherry blossom trees and the enduring friendship between the citizens of the United States and Japan.
