After 30 years, the Capitol Theatre re-opened to the general public on January 18, 2006. Thanks to the efforts of countless volunteers, we now operate as a movie house and live entertainment venue. Recent upgrades to the sound and lighting equipment support movies, live music and theatre productions in a state of the art manner. The theatre is also equipped with the latest business technology to support corporate meetings in a professional and innovative manner.
The mission of the Board of Directors is to preserve this historic Macon landmark and offer a self-supporting, multi-use venue to enhance the downtown arts and entertainment community. Capitol Holdings, Inc.
a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization continues to seek funds to renovate and improve the storied cinema house located on Second Street between Cherry and Mulberry. Please see our ‘support' page for sponsorship and advertising opportunities. We hope you will join us in our efforts to make this vision of the future a reality. Enjoy the show!
