Nipa-Pon

Small but nice, clean, pleasant little restaurant, and some of the best red curry chicken I've had in a long time. It was definitely busy at lunchtime, as per one of the other reviews here. Parking is a little tricky on 25th Avenue, too. Definitely worth the effort, though.

I've worked in San Mateo for a number of years and this place has been a regular haunt for me and my co-workers. I often order the pad see -ew (flat rice noodle, Chinese broccoli, egg, garlic, and chicken) and it is quite good. The curry dishes are great as well and the fried banana and coconut ice cream is about as good as it gets. The portion are just the right size and the price is right.

Good Thai food and reasonable prices make this a favorite with Silicon Valley engineers around the San Mateo area. A bit too quiet and off the beaten path for dinner for most but usually packed at lunch time so get there early or late.
