The San Fernando Valley is a far different place today then when Temple Beth Hillel was conceived. Today there are close to 2,351,000 Jews living in the Valley, making it the largest suburban community in the United States. More Jews live here than in Baltimore, Boston, Cleveland, or Detroit (probably because all of your families moved here from those cities!). The Valley is home to about 38 synagogues, representing the various movements, from Chabad to Reconstructionist.
