The only thing as good as the sandwiches here are the people who work behind the counter. They're always cheerful and they serve really tasty sandwiches. The Slickster (cranberry and turkey) and The Tony Soprano (big italian sub) are both highly recommended. Literally the only downside is that their chicken often leaves something to be desired.
A good place to grab a drink or a bite to eat. The atmosphere in this place can't be beat for authentic Irish Pub-iness. The food was decent, but the beer is good. I'm definitely going back here for St Patrick's day.
Zeitgeist is a weird place. You enter through a door with a very masculine playboy bunny into the main bar. There aren't any tables in the bar because almost every square inch of floor is taken up by full kegs of beer. In the back room is a pinball machine and a pool table, and the ordering window for food. Everyone hangs out outside in the big backyard, where there are porta potties, picnic tables and hooks on the wall to hang bikes. I've eaten the burgers here 3 times, and I'm still not sure if they're so good because I've always been drinking heavily or if they're actually good food. Either way, I keep going back for them. During warmer months the backyard gets totally packed, but when it's cold and rainy, most of the tables will still be full. If you want a real dive bar experience in the Mission with good beer and great burgers, Zeitgeist is definitely what you're looking for.
