My wife, son and I were looking for a good bruch last Sunday in Dayton, Ohio. We moved to Springboro, Ohio about 4 years ago from Southeastern, Ohio and have heard all the "rave" about the Oregon District in Dayton so we thought we give it a shot. We came across The Dublin Pub; outside of the building was this huge "Now Serving Brunch" sign which peeked our interest so we turned in.
To our surprise, it was just like the namesake: A PUB. Should have guessed what we were in for by the inside decor. Mahogany wood engulfing the entire inside, very dark like they were waiting for their 5 o clock drunks to roll in.
After looking over the small brunch menu, I ordered an omelet and my wife ordered a burger. You would think that would be pretty simple huh?? After waiting 30 minutes for our food to be served, we found the entrees to be mediocre at best. The waitress, obviously used to serving beer and not food did okay in terms of servicing us throughout the entire experience. We gave her 15% for her trouble that late morning.
The point is, if you are a bar that serves food, stick to typical "Bar food" and DO NOT try to enter into the realm of brunches if you are not going to have the menu to support it. All in all, I give the Dublin Pub 2 stars for overall Sunday Brunch. To be fair, however, I am sure it is a fine place to be on a Friday or Saturday evening for drinks and a snack.
Thanks
