We (I'm never alone at a restaurant) have eaten at this location twice. Having tried the Risotto's in Las Cruces, we wanted to see if the menu was the same here in El Paso.
I'm not a big fan of Med-rim. (look at a map of the Mediterrean Sea and and the countries that border it and you'll know what Med-rim food is.)
But our choice wasn't disappointing.
We had a lunch serving of Lebanese Sirloin Skewer, two pieces of sirloin on a....uh...skewer with bell pepper and onion. Well seasoned and a bit garlicky but not objectionably so. The sirloin was tender. Garlic mashed potatoes accompanied my meat dish and my wife had rice with hers.
We each chose a house salad for a dollar extra. The salad, a small plate of vari-colored Romaine was worth about 99 cents.
Our server demonstrated a forced friendliness.
Would I recommend Risotto's? Yes, if you're into MED-RIM.
An old standout for Italian food in El Paso, Cappetto's is hard to beat.
The Marinera sauce excels.
Some of the dishes are Americanized versions but everything is good.
