I did not care for this movie. It was predictable and lame, not that funny. However my son loved the movie. He is a big animal lover and thought it was hilarious. We did like seeing the different breeds of dogs. The animals were the only ACTORS in the movie although Lisa Kudrow delivered a great performance, though it was too small a role
Finally a movie with a real life ending. I have seen so many movies, in my childs age group,he's 9, that you think well this will be OK nothing bad ever happens. When in fact it should. The kids, the grownups all need to see stories aren't always happily ever after. This was the most touching movie I have ever seen. My son cried for the first time ever at a movie and we are movie buffs, he cried all the way home and again that night. But two movies later and several days have past and I asked him his favorite movie and it is Marley and Me. He's a super big animal lover, I am not, but i could still see the importance of showing a movie about real life and what eventually happens to all dogs, kitties, people--well at least its a start! Finally a movie with a real life ending--it should be movie of the year. i'm so tired of these lame happy ending movies that could never happen, like BOLT for example. As far as the acting I thought it was great. Owen could have shown ONE tear while he was with Marley on his death bed, thats the only problem I had. This movie was superb. It was comic geniuos and yes with a sad most touching excellent ending. Take your kids to see this movie. It will not dissapoint and what you do take from this movie will last you alifetime.
Why did Oprah convince me to see this movie? I find it hard to believe she enjoyed it. Very boring, predictable, cheesy and 3 hours long. Don't waste your money. Even if you are a Brad Pitt, sorry--YUCK---fan...It was suppose to have these GREAT special effects but you could see it was all digital and it was not smooth, not like the special effects, in lets say, Brads one of a kind, sexy, beatiful girlfriend's movie Wanted, now those were special effects. That was an awesome movie, Brad is one heck of a lucky dude, and yes I'm a girl. Back to this movie though, it bit. Terrible. Don't waste your 3 hours or money, I really wanted a good cry movie, but all I cried about was the money and time I wasted. Truly you guys it was bad.
