I have to second the opinion that if "The Warehouse" wasn't
"The Warehouse", it would be a "1 star".
But, the Warehouse IS the Warehouse - and it's 5 Stars.
Read the reviews - funky, eclectic, unique, one of a kind - use whatever words you can describe to the decor - it's kind of like Hard Rock Cafe, but, instead of "famous people's stuff" on the walls and ceiling, it's got stuff that you might buy on a whim at a moving sale, an auction, or maybe as a teenage on a high school party night, you might have thought that "that street sign" would look good in your bedroom? It's here, now.
Just had to have a 10 ft stuffed polar bear and you saw one at a moving sale? Someone bought it, and it's here.
Entertained the thought of having an old "Playland at the Beach" ticket booth. Yep, it's here, too.
Right near the Last Supper wall tapestry.......
And that's 2% of the STUFF.......
Friday - Saturday evenings are hopping, with live local music East Bay country / rock (sometimes) - or, the jukebox of 1,000,000 songs.
Pool table. Free water. Don't play on the train tracks. The famous "sloping bar floor".
Sundays in summer are good BBQ - and it's a destination spot for motorcyclists in the afternoon.
The weekend eve lobster and prime rib are always, well, "magnificent" and if the kitchen is closed, Howie or Larry will make you up a hot dog or a cheese plate with ~50 "2 packs" of Saltines. Well, it IS the Warehouse and after 1 pint sized drink, Saltines are just peachy!
I ALWAYS bring my "out of state" visiting friends here and convince them that this is the REAL California, and not that wacky stuff they see on CNN in San Francisco.........
I had so much fun last year that I bought a pair of lederhosen for this year. They have real 1 liter German beer mugs this year, too. The food was great - pork loins, roasted potatoes and lots of other authentic Oktoberfest food (and "refreshments").
Easy to get to (Marin side of the Richmond Bridge) and there's plenty of tables and chairs, dancing space and easy convenient parking.
Enjoy an Oktoberfest beer right on the Bay at sunset -
Get to meet the some of the original Marinites who built this county. Talk to them about what this county used to be like in the good old days! <wink!>
See ya! :-)
