I miss my O'Flats. I used to work down the street from San Pedro and everyone in the neighborhood would show up here. Everyone is so friendly and helpful that it really is a great, relaxing place to hang out before a sharks game or after a show.
You have to order the pricey $8-$12 guacamole. They make it in front of you at the table and you can pick and choose how spicy it should be. Absolutely fresh and 100% tasty. Consuelo also provides you tortillas vs. chips (so much more authentic).
My friend swears he had the best surf clam ever at Yuki. I enjoy their rolls and have been a big fan of their udon. It's a must try for folks looking for an intimate and friendly local sushi spot to call home.
This place is packed for lunch and dinner. It's often hard to find parking in the lot and folks look streetside. My favorite dishes are the pineapple rice, thai iced tea and crab won ton soup.
It's hard to find a spot at dinner time because this is one of the fav spots for Willow Glen residents. The margaritas are fantastic and the food is light and tasty (for Mexican fusion this can difficult). Check it out, everyone else has. NOTE: Be forewarned this is a sit down restaurant but you order your food upfront and then pick it up when they call your number.
Thea is a great place to stop in Santana Row prior to a movie at the Cine Arts. If you haven't already, order the Flaming cheese appetizer. It comes out on fire and tastes great!
I discovered California Sushi from a mutual friend. It's hidden in the strip mall next to Santa Clara Billiards, but it's worth trying out. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality, taste and prompt service at the sushi bar.
By-Th'-Bucket has been a local favorite in Santa Clara for years! It's menu ranges from steak and seafood to pizza and salads. Almost anyone's taste can be satisfied here. My favorite is the asiago crusted halibut.
...then you'll like Kingfish.
The New Orleans inspired cuisine is popular with techies and local business folk. It's packed in the late afternoon with folks at the bar enjoying a mojito after work and others sitting down to enjoy the cajun flavors for dinner.
This community production was great. Sarcastic. Quick witted and fantastic. Who knew an old folks home could be so funny. It's a cross between grumpier old men and waiting for godot.
Hilarious movie. Started out slow, but picked up to generate tons of laughter.
Great acting. Fabulous play (even though Willy Loman is generally a depressing character).
