Not that I've had a ton... but the flavor that comes out in the homemade, natural ingredients is pretty awesome.
A little more interesting than the typical "average guy with a hot girlfriend" romantic comedy.
This place is as close to a Los Altos institution as it gets. 90% of customers order the Godfather sandwich (an Italian sub with many meats, peppers, and so on), and you should too.
I recommend trying the various stew and rice dishes. Flavorful with a great aroma.
Comparable to Zachary's (Berkeley) and Little Star (SF). Maybe half a tick lower than those venerable institutions, but great nonetheless.
The menu is limited, but that's ok -- If you like noodles, give it a try. The various broths have great flavor (I recommend the eponymous Ryowa Ramen), the service is quick and friendly, and the price is right. They also have a few rice and dumpling dishes.
All the menu items are good, but for a real treat, try the Falafel Deluxe.
Bottle Rocket (director Wes Anderson's first) is sublime, so I have a very high standard. This one is quirky, but I smile when I think about it, and I want to go back and look for all the details that make Anderson's movies fascinating.
It follows the typical arc - new guy pulls himself up by his bootstraps in the gritty underworld; before you know it he's the big dog; hubris pushes him too far. But it's well-acted, has a sense of realism, and not dominated by superfluous violence. All in all, a gripping story.
There's probably a generation that knows Stevie only from remakes of his hits, but the originals stand up as well as anything in the last 50 years.
Neil Young has been cranking out great rock 'n roll since the 1960s. He's mellowed in his later years, but what do you expect?
If you like Jane Austen's books, you're guaranteed to like this movie. It's practically an Austen novel itself. I can't speak for the historical accuracy of its depiction of her life, but if it's anywhere close, she drew heavily on personal experience when creating characters like Elizabeth, Jane, and the rest of Pride and Prejudice.
Not much dialogue to get in the way, just a few pauses for you to catch your breath. Overall, a very entertaining action movie.
Delfina is possibly the best restaurant in all of San Francisco. They also have some unusual items on the menu, for the adventurous.
Always a mix of incredible fresh ingredients and creative, perfectly-baked pizzas. Good luck getting a table, though.
I challenge you to name a more delicious place for ice cream in San Francisco.
On the edge of the Tenderloin neighborhood, farmerbrown doesn't look very inviting from the outside. But inside it's a different story--a very cool and modern dining room.
Most everything I've tried here has been somewhere between ok and pretty good, with the exception of the fried chicken, which is very good.
Service was also pretty good, and friendly.
Not bloody like most modern horror movies, but creepy in a classic Stephen King way. A great psychological thriller.
The chicken is especially juicy and delicious.
One of the greatest rock bands of any style and any era. Inventive, sonic, soulful, and powerful.
These guys basically took the jazz-funk thing to a new level. Over the years they've branched out into more and more experimental concepts, but they still can bust a nasty groove.
Great selection of omelettes, sandwiches, and other brunch favorites.
One of the hottest spots in Mountain View, this place is always busy. The flavors are wonderful, if a little pricey.
Cafe Brioche and Joanie's (next door) are well-known and popular brunch locations (as you'll see by the line on the sidewalk). Dinner can be nice too.
The dipping oil with the bread is outstanding. Most dishes are flavorful but can be a little heavy.
Jazz-Funk, Acid Jazz, and terms like that are somewhat overused in modern music. Most artists described in this way are one but not truly the other. Not Soulive. They are the funkiest, jazziest, groovinest band touring today.
Better than 12, not quite as good as 11. A lot of funny moments, but some of the performances are a little flat.
