The theater has gone through some minor changes such as the lobby offering condiments on your own and some updated movie posters, but the overall enviroment is still dark. It is a very old theater that is offering mostly new movies for the community.
One thing my family enjoyed was the free popcorn and soda refills and the free "courtesy" cups that we used to fill for each child to use as their own rather than spilling and dipping their dirty hands in the popcorn tubs. And our children do not drink soda, and I feel that they should offer more variety of healthier drinks. Recently they raised the prices on food and eliminated the free small cups.
The parking lot is in very much need of repairs and has been for many years with potholes to match in Chicago. The entire inside is old, drafty, and dingy.
My complaint is that when the theater offered movies for 2.00 a person before 5pm, you knew what you were getting yourself into, but since they've hiked up the prices, it's easier and at almost the same cost, to just go to a respectable theater where you'll get the sound quality, the newer and cleaner theaters, and you felt that the quality of the food was much more "sanitized".
I will admit that the staff tries to do all they can to make it a pleasant experiance and they try to keep the theater clean, but it is what it is...an old and outdated movie without the frills and almost the same cost as other theaters.
Our children 7 ad 11 enjoyed it as hubby and I did. It's a great movie for all with tons of humor. must see over and over!
