One of the most powerful women in America, and I would say one of the most influential people in America, gender aside. I personally love watching interviews with her when she is on media she is not typically connected to. She has a particularly quick wit, and is a bit of a flirt.
Bill Cosby has always been the master storyteller. He knows how to keep you on your seat through drawn out tales of hilarity. While he was both a successful voice actor for his own animated tv show, and a television actor on the self titled 'Cosby Show' his stand up remains my favorite part of his career.
I'm gonna go ahead and say I agree with everything scheme said, but yet again there is someone posting stupid drivel like "I wish they made it geared more for kids".
It wouldn't be the same story at all. What you meant to say was, "I should have seen another movie." You clearly just purchase movie tickets on a whim just expecting rated R titles to actually be rated G. The fact that you survived the trek to the theater and then made it home, and was capable of using a computer to successfully comment on this movie is a testament to your luck. The fact that you aren't dead from attempting to eat a loaf of bread with the plastic wrap still on it amazes me.
I thought this was a very stunning movie. I went with a bunch of friends who had all read, and been fans of the graphic novel, and they all enjoyed it as well. This seems like the kind of movie that could make that transition well.
I highly recommend it to people already aware of the story and to those that aren't.
Tyler Perry needs to stop making crappy movies that don't make money. I am amazed people keep letting him put this crap out. Who invests in this when he has such a bad track record when it comes to making likable movies?
I really enjoyed this movie, but there really wasn't anything amazing about it. It was a rather solid comedy that really did nothing to blow me away. I expect to see this rerunning on TBS or something next year, where I will ultimately watch 15 minutes of it and change the channel during the first commercial.
This was a very fun movie and I really enjoyed it! That said, the parts that really made the movie were all Meryl Streep's scenes, where as the writing and characters in the Julie segments were bland. I found myself disliking the Julie character, which I can't imagine was the intent.
Since I only liked half the movie, I wanted to give it 2.5 stars, but the convenience of the Julie portions of the movie for going to the bathroom and getting a snack, should not be overlooked, so I bumped it up one.
I got a burrito to go and it was delicious. It's not the most amazing burrito I've ever had, but it certainly was fresh. That might be the oregano. They lose a star for putting salsa on mine when I asked for no salsa though.
Sure, the concept of aliens is not new, but this movie deals with them in a much different light and plays out in a rather interesting fashion. There is so much to this story that isn't even expressed in the trailer, so I feel like almost anything would qualify as a spoiler. This is also a tale of human interaction and Apartheid. I think because we are painted so poorly, it really did have to take place in South Africa to be acceptable by some folks.
The story takes place over about a 4 day period, and the scene weaving is done well enough to make the time skipping seem pretty fluid. I highly recommend this movie.
And to the guy that cautioned against bringing your kids.... duh!? It's rated R
I love everything this guy has been in in the past 5 years. Age has served him well.
I went out with my girlfriend for this one, and we really enjoyed it. A rare point to this particular chick flick is that the woman is crazy, and that is not understated the way it frequently is in other films. The man is also clearly scarred from past relationships.
There is nothing really new, or amazing about this use of the formula, but I think this is certainly one of the more guy friendly chick flicks. Think 50 First Dates vs. Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.
Not only does this place serve up great homestyle fare, but they can teach you how to cook it yourself! I love places like this.
It wasn't bad, it wasn't good, it was just a movie. I enjoyed myself, but not as much as other, less hyped, movies I've seen this summer. The first transformers had the plus of being the first time we got to see them, so the plot could be rather lackluster and just seeing awesome robots made up for it. This time, not so much.
Much like everyone else so far, I loved this movie. Incredibly well done, and it's nice to see a little change in direction from Pixar. All of their films are nostalgia trips to some extent, but this is from a different and appreciated angle.
This was a really funny movie, and I don't really feel an in-depth analysis of it is needed, but I want to help counteract the weird review that seems to be complaining about the language used.
Basically, if you have seen "Very Bad Things" you have seen this movie in baby form, and that movie was all sorts of messed up. The movie has the same feel to it though. If you liked that, you'll like this.
I really enjoyed this movie. I saw it with my girlfriend and some friends, but I think I would have heard less complaining had I just seen it with my girlfriend.
As with most romantic comedies, the ending is predictable. That doesn't really change the quality of the movie though, and I enjoyed all the little twists presented throughout the plot. I highly recommend it as a date movie, but maybe for just more world savvy audiences. Maybe 20+? Not all the jokes would have made sense to me had I seen it when I was 10 years younger.
I've been getting my hair cut here for about 5 years now and I've enjoyed the place thoroughly. The price for a regular men's cut is $15.00 and they have a student discount that knocks $2 off that.
Tasty treats not too far from my office. Friendly staff, and not just a cake place. There's plenty of non-sweets available for the more savory craving people too!
I'm sure he doesn't fancy himself a celeb, but he is popular and in the past 5 years or so, cooking has definitely stepped up in the forefront of publicly discussed skills.
What makes Bourdain a step above is his complete lack of focus when it comes to the subject. This makes him a much more interesting lecturer and just generally an entertaining guy to listen to as he discusses anything in particular. His wide range of travels also give him perspective outside the norm for chefs who typically focus in more European areas.
This is a kids movie with adult humor mixed in there, but not dirty adult humor, just stuff you might not get unless you had been around to see older movies. I think with the recent hubub made over some of these animated flicks being less child friendly that this might be a draw for parents concerned with these things.
All in all, I really enjoyed the movie. The voice cast was really enjoyable, and I think many wouldn't know they are listening to Hugh Laurie if it weren't in the credits, as he uses his natural accent instead of going American like he does in House.
As the title may suggest, there isn't too much to this movie plot-wise, but there is some substance in the story regarding acceptance. A typical children's movie theme.
He's the President, and although it hasn't been too long, I think he's gonna be great.
I love this guy! I don't always agree with him, but I find a lot of his insights to be amusing and intelligent. Even when I disagree, I see where he is coming from.
I've always enjoyed his shows, and his stand up is usually fresh and riot, as it closely revolves around current events.
Just like most motels around Disneyland, there is shuttle service to the park (it really is walkable though) and the place is well run. I kinda like the look of the place from the outside too just because it looks like a fairy tale inn.
You could do far worse price-wise and location-wise in Anaheim. Of course, if you aren't going to Disneyland, you'd be an idiot to stay in any of the motels right outside of it, this being no exception.
I never saw the original, so I wont act like an idiot and base my rating off of a comparison vs the merits of the movie itself.
I was pretty impressed with the way the movie moved along. There were some silly parts, but nothing unforgivable. I am glad they updated the movie and moved it out of the cold war influenced reasoning and into something a little more understandable for today's times. It seems some people felt it was too "liberal" (because somehow being concerned with the state of our environment is liberal). While that seems to be a theme, it's not brought up in any more specific tones than "You guys are ruining the planet", which is a nice change from the full blown guilt trip I've come to expect from movies these days.
All in all, Keanu did a good job, but playing a deadpan, if not confused alien, wasn't much of a stretch from other roles he's portrayed.
The American Musical Theatre of San Jose today announced that it is ceasing business operations, effective immediately. The theatre’s upcoming productions of Tarzan and 42nd Street have been cancelled although the touring production of Chicago will be performing as scheduled, all tickets will be honored. We are currently in communication with the producers of Avenue Q, to achieve the same result as Chicago.
“We received a telephone call a few days ago from our co-producer for Tarzan, which was the Theater of the Stars in Atlanta, Georgia basically telling us that they used the funds that we had paid them towards the production for other things,” said Michael Miller, CEO and Executive Producer of AMTSJ. “In essence, they cancelled the show without giving us any warning, and we discovered that the funds we had paid for Tarzan were spent on another production of theirs, which lost a significant amount of money,” Miller continued.
Added Robert Nazarenus, AMTSJ’s Chief Financial officer: “The cancellation of Tarzan meant nearly a two million dollar loss to us. The disappearance of the six figures that we paid to Atlanta’s Theater of the Stars in good faith coupled with the huge loss of revenues we anticipated from Tarzan was just too much to overcome, particularly in these economic times.” Nazarenus went on to say “Despite the harsh economic times, we were operating prudently, and had a solid strategic plan in place. We have always found a way to succeed, with quality productions, patron loyalty, and community support. This season was no different. But, when you in essence lose nearly two million dollars, it is impossible to recover. What makes this even more frustrating is the fact that this is caused by the wanton actions of another theater company.”
AMTSJ’s local attorneys, coupled with strong legal representation hired in Atlanta, are pursuing aggressive action against Atlanta’s Theater of the Stars. Miller and Nazarenus indicate that they will pursue AMTSJ’s claim to its successful conclusion. “We are devastated for this community, our staff, and most of all for our loyal patrons,” Miller said. “It is especially frustrating because of how hard we have worked, how sound our plan going forward has been, and because of the history and heritage of the American Musical Theatre of San Jose. This is a sad moment for all of us. We will aggressively pursue our claim against the Theater of the Stars to recover whatever money we can to pay the City of San Jose, our vendors and our loyal patrons for their good faith investment in AMTSJ.”
For above average seafood at a reasonable price, Pappy's is the place to go! They have beer and mixed drinks available to help you enjoy your meal.
I went into this movie thinking it was gonna be good, not great, but not bad either. I was very happy to find out it was amazing. The plot moves along at a perfect pace, with what would be slow points glazed over to only further heighten the comedic properties already present in the film.
This is the story of two people attempting to blackmail the CIA with documents they don't understand, and the CIA isn't horribly interested in. To further complicate things, a love pentagon erupts in the story that both intrigues and disturbs. I can honestly say I haven't seen a comedy with such a well written script, and great cast in a long time. The only thing that bothered me a little was that John Molkovich's character sounds a little silly when he's dropping the F-bomb, but that may just be a personal thing with me.
This Barnes & Noble will be opening its doors sometime in October 2008

This location will be opening some time in November of 2008
Polite dog with great etiquette and social graces. Looks down on others, but like a princess, where it is expected.
This place has been clsed for a few months while they remodeled. Now that they are done, the place looks great! They made some of the changes I always thought should have been made, like moving the sushi bar over to the side with the alcohol bar, so you can wait, have a couple drinks, and get some sushi, if there is a long line. It's also just a better sushi bar than before. Where I used to kinda feel it was a waste to get sushi here, it now seems more reasonable as you can skip the whole Benihana's food experience and just enjoy some sushi and cocktails here for lunch. That wasn't really an option before for me, as it just didn't feel right, but it is isolated enough in the restaurant that I wouldn't feel weird now.
Summary: They took a great restaurant (one of my favorites) and made it even better!
The theater doesn't post their times on Zvents. The information is gathered for all theater by a third party and is only as accurate as the gatherer makes it. As with everything online, double check the source. This theater listing has the website available, and that should be checked before walking out the door. Penalizing the Cinema for things out of their control is unfair, so I am writing this review for 5 stars to counterbalance the previous rating.
Andale's has always been a great restaurant and the airport stops are almost just as good. It is rare to see a truly exceptional burrito place in an airport, but if it strikes your fancy, this is a great place to start looking.
It seems that people are getting better at remaking old cartoons into movies these days. This is a really hit or miss title between my friends and I. Som of them really hated the movie because they just couldn't handle the cheese factor of the movie, but all of them enjoy really cheesy movies otherwise, so it may just be this particular brand.
This is a racing movie, but a little more as well. The racing is definitely action packed, and there are plenty of great scenes out of the cars as well. Having chosen to hold true to the cartoon, you should be expecting some really goofy antics and bright (can't stress this enough) BRIGHT, colors. This movie may be a bad choice for an epileptic.
I am taking away a star because of the ending. No need for me to explain that here, and no it's not a crappy ending, it just made me groan really loudly.
I can honestly say this was the best Marvel movie I have seen, and I have seen all the ones that have come out in the past decade. I'm not entirely shocked that Robert Downey Jr. was able to play a billionaire playboy, although I am sure it was a bit of a stretch from his current standing as a millionaire playboy.
From start to finish this was a great movie, with everything done in a flowing linear manner. Even if you haven't been a fan of the super hero movies int he past I think anyone would enjoy. There is a little drama, alot of comedy, and a ton of action.
I've been told I don't get it, but I really think I do. I see what they are trying to do, and I know the humor they attempt, but just fail miserably at. I honestly think the only reason they ever got a show on adult swim is because of friends who already work there. Adult swim has been getting increasingly more expensive shows, so it wouldn't surprise me if they used this crap to fill in the time slots they can't afford.
I went into this movie thinking it would be more of the same from the last movie. That is exactly what it was. This movie starts off IMMEDIATELY after the first, and goes from there. It's very fast paced, but without being rushed.
If there are drawbacks to the movie, it might be that you really need to see the first to get everything in this one. Also, if you are not a fan of racial humor or political jabs against our current government, you may get offended here. That said, you probably wouldn't even be considering this movie and reading this review if those were serious issues.
All in all, its better than the first, but in the same vein. So if you liked the first, you'll love this.
Truly a wonderful show. Of course, if you don't have tickets now, you may not be able to get them anymore, but worth the effort if you can.
This place is conveniently located near the AMC in Cupertino Square, and makes a decent spot to get your meal before a movie. Because it is a popular restaurant though, and almost everyone is having the same idea, expect long waits to be seated. It would be worth the effort to call ahead, even if only before you get in your car to drive down there.
This is one of the better BBQ joints in the area. It has good portions, great flavor, and decent prices. The only reason I deduct a star is to be fair to the other places I've had equally good steak, but a better ambiance. I mean, BBQ doesn't get a whole lot better than Andy's, but it's not a package deal like Forbes' Mill in Los Gatos, or Alexander's in Cupertino.
If you want great meat without needing a reservation or a alot of money, Andy's should be your choice.
I went here with my girlfriend for Valentine's day this year (We had been hearing from friends it was great) and enjoyed a wonderful meal. We had the specials for the day, so I can't comment with great authority on the regular menu, but if it was half as good as the specials, you would be doing yourself a disservice to not try it at least once.
This place is always packed, so if you are looking for an intimate, quite spot to eat, you wont find it here, but you wont exactly be rubbing elbows with the other patrons either. It will be busy though.
Don't let that take too much from the movie though. This is definitely a fun movie, with alot of interesting fight scenes. I can't speak too highly of the cast, but like I've read elsewhere, the movie would have been far more interesting had the followed the 2nd Jumper's storyline instead of David's. Worth seeing, if only to prep you for the inevitable sequel.
I was surprised to find out that this was actually part of a trilogy so it came as a shock to me when the movie ended so abruptly. In hindsight I suppose it was a good place to stop it for the purposes of this story, but it definitely was more jarring than I would have.
Everyone was all set up to head off somewhere, and BAM! To be continued...
That aside, this was a very interesting movie and it kept me entertained the whole time, which is a good accomplishment for a PG-13 Movie. This is definitely one I want to see again, because I think it would be better the 2nd time around now that I am more familiar with the characters and the world they inhabit.

These guys were always pretty good (to me anyways), but I thought they had stopped performing. I might have been right about that, but it looks like they are still doing shows. I hope they come out to the west coast because they've been in the biz long enough now that I think I would really enjoy their stage show.
Basically this movie looks far less CG in the trailer than it does in the seats. Not that I was expecting much differently, considering I came in with the knowledge the whole thing was done in CG. Alot of the characters just look kinda plastic. After about 30 minutes, it stopped bothering me because the story picked up enough to grab my attention.
The true saving grace for this movie had to be all the moments they give in to the comedy of the situation. For instance there is some semi-nudity (no naughty bits), but their method of concealing some of the more "Adult" oriented material was VERY amusing. If you don't go in with high expectations, you wont be let down.
You have to respect that in this day and age. Especially when they put Dr. in their name. Event his background makes his sound awesome. He apparently lost his ring finger on his left hand from a gunshot wound. Thats pretty hard core if ask me. I would see him if only because he sounds like he's got great stories, that I hope he tells in between songs.
It looks like the Police are heading across the ocean to continue their tour at the end of November. If their own comments on the tour are accurate this may be your last chance to see them perform live. I've been a fan for a long time, and I'd love to see them if I hadn't already missed the shows in my area.
Well life has been a little rough on this pop star, but tossing all drama aside, I can't say I was ever that impressed with her singing or performing skills to begin with. I wouldn't accept a ticket to one of her shows were it offered to me for free, but it may be a good idea to see her before she finishes her current downward spiral and disappears into the ambiguity of history.
I can't say I have ever really enjoyed country, but if I had to pick someone from that genre to listen to, I would take Garth Brooks. This might be because he has moved closer and closer to sounds more similar to classic rock from the 1980's, but he has stood the test of time and has remained on top of genre long enough to make me think of him as the Rolling Stones of Country.
This looks like an Emo version of Hanson.
By that I mean Hanson had the looks of a kiddie hair band, and were emo. Maybe these kids look Emo and will act like an 80's hair band? This could be pretty funny...
I've been impressed sense the moment I first saw "The Rock" on the silver screen. He has managed to step out of the wrestler persona enough to be viewed as a legitimate actor (imho) and a talented one at that. There are better ones out there, but when you consider where he came from, "The Rock" has done quite well for himself.
I know its a cliche phrase but it definitely applies to this movie. This is definitely not a kung-fu movie. This is Japanese street gangs duking it out in San Francisco. It's hard to not say too much in a review for this movie, and I find that to be more of a blessing than negative when it comes to action flicks. This is no simple "Kill everything - The End." movie.
And to Jenny:
The review section is for reviewing the movie, not the site. However, it is labeled rated R, all of two inches above your review. I find it hard to believe someone could actually see any kind of advertisement for this movie and expect anything but an R rating...
This is one of those restaurant that seems to base the amount of people it scheduled to work a shift by the magic 8 ball. The food is only decent. Yu can find much better for cheap in the area.
The place isn't all bad though. The inside is great for a romantic dinner and because the service is so slow, you get alot of time to talk.
This replaced the Taco Del Mar that was in the spot before it. It is a vastly superior replacement. I only wish it was open when I still worked in the complex.
Scientists ave concluded that the tears of Chuck Norris can cure Cancer. Too bad he never cries.
This is one of those movies that really made the transition from stage to screen fantastically. The cast was very well suited for this somber tale gone sour. It is unfortunate this show will mostly be seen strictly on the smaller screens of your local theater, but it really could be enjoyed just as much on DVD.
If you've never hear of this show before, it's worth seeing on the big screen, but if you can only afford to get out of the house one night, it would be better spent on another movie as this will be just as good on TV at home a month from now, as it would be in the theater tonight.
I walked into this restaurant tonight to find the place near empty, aside from the birthday in the corner. Much to my delight, it seemed this was not a fair indicator as to how great the food was. Everything was fantastic! Not only was the crispy beef just crispy enough, it wasn't ridiculously over doughed. To make something like that takes some impressive skill and care. The Phoenix Chicken was amazing as well. It was a true delight and they deserve much more business than I saw tonight.
It used to be a unique sound anyways... This group really lost me when they released their 2nd album which was a complete rehash of their first. Up to that point, I had been a great supporter and loved their sound. It's still alright, but it lost alot of it's magic with me when it copped out and released remakes of songs they had just done. It's one thing for a long established band to do that with a compilation of songs across many albums and touching them up because they felt they could have done better, but it was just too early in their careers to pull such a move.
I'm not a huge fantasy fan, but I've been known to catch a Harry potter flick and enjoyed the Princess Bride thoroughly. This movie, however, really takes the cake as far as fantasy goes. Location changes frequently throughout the movie as you venture through a rather morbid world out of one of the "original" Dickens books.
There's witches, princes, a princess, and even a unicorn. The cliches are almost enough to make this movie a comedy, and at times it is. Despite that, there is a certain flair of originality that makes the movie really fresh, despite being riddled with the usual suspects when it comes to the plot. There are moments where some of the story is reminiscent of some of the children's Japanese Anime I've seen before.
All in all, this was a great movie that I would happily watch again, and as soon as it comes out to video, I'll be buying that as well. The only reason I take half a star off is because I think they could have ended it a little better. It really got a little cheesy for me, especially when they had done so much work with a sword training montage maybe 15 minutes prior. Oh well, it was still great, and if all my friends hadn't already come and seen it with me tonight, I would be encouraging them to go see it as well.
Tom Jones has always been a performer that I have had an odd fascination with. He amuses me greatly and I suspect that has alot to do with the fact that he is so closely tied to Carlton from "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air". Now, I must see him before I loose the chance to.
This is one of those movies that is so jam packed full of action even the camera man is getting the jitters. A common complaint for the older movies was how shaky the camera was, but I had never noticed until this movie. It adds a certain panic to movie that really intensifies everything going on.
I went into this expecting more of the same, but was happily surprised to find a good, solid, and thought out conclusion to the trilogy. I walked out if less questions than I came in with, and that was certainly a pleasant surprise.
This is definately one of the best steakhouses I've been too. The food is great! As far as price, it was actually cheaper than what I expected to be paying after walking in the door, but it's certainly not the sort of thing I would be able to afford regularly either.
If you've got something to celebrate, this is a great choice to be celebrating it at.
Lily Allen was first introduced to me with her song "Smile" which I found incredibly morbid and delightfully upbeat at the same time. After having listened to a fair share of her songs, I would say she has about a 30% fail rate on the songs in her albums, which is pretty damn good for today's top artists. I only wish I could find an album that didn't consist of 50% crap songs I don't wanna here.
I've always really enjoyed the Ribeye here. Much like Starbucks there is something to be said for consistency as well. I've had far better steaks, but for the price of an Outback steak, the taste is amazing.
If you've been a fan of the Simpsons at all during your lifetime this is definitely a must see. With lots of their standard comedy there is also alot of tongue in cheek moments, starting from the opening scene.
Almost all characters from the series make an appearance in one fashion or another. The only reason I took away a star was because they could have really taken more advantage of the fact they weren't on TV and used their PG13 rating a little further. They managed to squeek in a little well placed nudity, but that is where they start pulling their punches.
All in all, a fantastic movie that really lives up to the expectations of their audience; but I suppose if you're still watching the cartoon now, it wouldn't take much to please you beyond an hour and a half of Simpsons straight anyways.
Perhaps there is more to their name than people give them credit for. It's like a cheap knockoff of a silverback gorilla, with all the musical talent, but less creativity. If they were Sally Struther kids, I'd want my nickel back too.
No matter where he goes from here, Justin will never outlive his appearance on SNL where he performed "Dick in a Box". I gained new respect for him that day.
I come here pretty much every night for a cup of coffee and a few cigarettes. Its been a pretty staple part of my existence for 6 years now. Some nights its great and some nights a younger crowd ill roll in and make a mess. Its on of those places that you never need to give directions to your friends to find.
The coffee is good, if you get the right person, but even the bad ones are passable. There is a pretty good selection
This being the 5th installment of the 7 part series, one would have to wonder why a newcomer would even bother. That being said, if you've never read the book or haven't bothered to at least watch the past movies, you're gonna be in way over your head with this movie. There are some great training scenes and I really felt alot of anger towards Umbridge, which means she played her character perfectly!
The special effects are really present in this installment of the story and its been a long time coming. After so many years in magic school I had been wondering why there were only a handful of tricks up any one persons sleeve.
A friend of mine summed up my feelings perfectly, "This is like a really long intro to the next movie." A close comparison would be to Star Wars: Episode II, complete with awesome combat scene at the end making it all worth while.
I actually went into this movie expecting something sub-par. I was delighted to find that it was an incredibly well done animated movie with great characters, and an imaginative storyline. This is definitely a good movie to see with your kids, or do what I did and bring a date.
This is definitely a movie for the old Transformers buffs out there. That being said even those no history of the TV show can enjoy this. It is both visually stimulating and action packed. Many hidden jokes are strewn throughout the movie for the hardcore fan, but you wouldn't feel alienated for not getting them as they flow in nicely with the plot.
The story is taken as seriously as giant robots from outer space can be taken, and there are plenty of good laughs to be had in awkward situations that could only occur in a universe where robots roam space in search of a unit of immeasurable power. I could say the movie is violent due to all the combat in the movie, but you could feel pretty safe bringing a child to this anyways due to the lack of gore of any sorts.
I saw this with some friends over the weekend, and I'm glad I did. It is rare to get a chance to see anime like this in a theater, so any chance is usually worth it. The animation is great in this and I feel like I would start to understand more of what happened if I watched the movie again. There is alot of non-sequiter throughout the film, but it fits the style perfectly.
This is a subtitled film, so only go if you're used to these or are confident in your reading speed. I think even without, just watching the animation would be fun for some, but this is a heavy plot and every bit of dialogue is important.
Laugh out loud comedy, one of the funniest movies I've seen in a long while, I suppose it's too bad it was meant to be an action flick.
I think this movie was good as a whole, but there were definitely sections in it that dragged it down. When Calypso turns into a giants and proceeds to exit from the movie after doing almost nothing, I really had to wonder what the big deal was, and why all the pirates were so afraid if in the sea god's infinite rage she manages to sink 1 ship, and it sailed right for it. When Jack is trapped in the locker and going crazy, I really found myself enjoying the movie. It starting off with a Disney version of Les Miserables was pretty weak though.
I thought this was going to be an 'ok' movie, but I was wrong. It was great! This is definitely one of those movies where you really feel for the characters, but it also draws lines in the audience. Men really associate with the male lead, where women will often side with the female. Neither side is completely wrong, which is part of the fun.
I am a huge fan of the first two Shrek movies, but there has been a pretty noticeable decline in plot for the last two movies. I really enjoyed the 3rd, but couldn't get past some of the more annoying scenes with what felt like they had started targeting much younger audiences from some of the jokes that were originally put there for adults to enjoy.
I'm still a young guy so it is a little jarring that their choice age group for their "adult" humor felt like it was teen.
I saw this movie recently and was pleased to find that although it required some basic understanding of the old testament to already know why some things happen, it doesn't force anything. It makes light of much of the Noah story, but stays serious with the lessons about family. This is definitely a movie to see with your kids, but a group of adults can enjoy it too.
I wouldn't call it the best movie of all time, but it was worth the ticket price, especially to really get a good idea of the magnitude of the Ark being built and it's wild ride.
Make no mistake, this is a film with a biblical story and lessons throughout, but it's nothing people unfamiliar with the story could possibly object to either. It's a fantasy set in the modern stage.
...this place would not be as good. Lawn seating is a large section but with everyone laying on the ground sprawled out, it becomes very hazardous. Fortunetly everyone kinda watches out and really tries not to get all bent out of shape should little accidents occur, like people stepping on your blanket/towel/whatever or tripping and falling on each other. Neither happens often, but the fact that fights don't break out when they do and everyone seems to kinda respect one another is nice.
The system for the main stage is definitely good and that is where you are gonna see bands with a strong name and ones that really tax the speakers. There are also screens so you can see what is going on down on stage when you are back on the grass.
Food was over-priced. But it was sustinence that I really wanted and it was pretty good. Nothing worse than paying 4 dollars for a really bad hot dog or $5.50 for a bad Hamburger.
Bath rooms were actually amazing compared to what I had imagined in my mind. They have both port-o-potties and regular restrooms around, but the port-o-potties seem to be brought in fresh for each show.
This is one of those movies that I left feeling good about the $10.25 I spent on the ticket. I was hilarious!!! I expected funny from the makers of "Shaun of the Dead", but to me, Hot Fuzz blew Shaun out of the water. With hilarious murder scenes, that were as gory as they were funny, I found my movie of the year.
Go see Hot Fuzz, you'll regret not seeing this movie every day you wait.
Beausejour is run by William and Ahn Yee, who came to the United States from Vietnam in 1975. The Vietnamese influence shows in the reduced reliance of fat in the food, and Californian influence can be seen in the use of shiitake mushrooms and cilantro in sauces where a roux or cream sauce might be more customary. The decor is unassuming and understated. The monied classes can easily spend $100 or more for dinner with wine. But more value-conscious types shouldn't rule out Beausejour. By sticking to glasses of Los Altos tap, dinner for two can be held to $25 or $30. The extensive wine list is primarily Californian and French.
A nice large venue that sees lots of geat names come through and perform. I hold season tickets here and I've yet to be dissapointed in the past 6 years I've been attending.
Nice place, very clean, but at times felt really small. They need to widen some areas up, especially near the bar where there is the most traffic. Don't let that turn you off though! The place has great bands all the time and has an atmosphere that is both unique and comforting at the same time.
"When I plan for a convention, I look at three distinct elements. Collectively, the financial package, the facilities, and the services provided by the Convention and Visitors Bureau and hotel staff are what contribute to a successful function. Overall, I was very impressed with San Jose's offerings."
---Jorge Vallejos :: Director of Convention Planning, Mennonite Church USA
A small cozy theatre with good lighting and seating. The back seats are a little more comfortable than the ones in the pit. All in all, it's a fine place to view Shakespeare and you'll deffinately enjoy it, but this is not the place to see any large shows.
Lunch was excellent and well priced. Wine was $5.00 glass for lunch and the Nutella pannini desert was fantastic!
The lines can get kinda long, but the quality of the coffee makes it worth the wait!
