I was expecting alot less than I got here. The Blue Man Group has been around long enough to be seen as cliche, but you are reminded when you see the show that they've bee around this long for a reason. A truely amazing stage show. I can't even begin to compare it to what I've seen when they are the musical guests on talk shows. It almost does them a disservice to even appear on them when you realize just how cool it really is when they have something with more than a day's prep-time to work with.
This movie was cute. I was interesting for a while then it just started to drag at the end.
There were some great voice actors in this movie, Jay Leno, John Cusack, Eddie Izzard, John Cleese. I really enjoyed the suicidal bunny that Steve Buscemi spoke for.
The story was interesting enough to hold my attention through the whole movie and there are enough crazy and funny antics that will keep the kids and maybe some of the adults laughing for most of the movie.
Its a decent animation but it can't really hold a candle to some of this years earlier animated films. Still its worth watching.
This was a really funny movie and the first half was very funny. I actually did not know that this was a romantic comedy before seeing it That being said, Friday's nights are movie nights for me and my friends and some of them became very disinterested in the Romantic Comedy aspect of this film. I love it!
It was a great cynical movie that where a crotchety man learns that not all people are mindless twits. He is kind of like the Grinch in this movie, he's heart grows and he becomes a better person.
Now I really liked this movie, but I like romantic comedies. I think had I know that it was a romantic comedy, my boyfriend and I might have seen this as a date movie instead of with a bunch of our friends.
This is a very funny movie and Ricky Gervais was great, as well as Tea Leoni (even if she was a little creepy with the mummy...)and I really liked Greg Kinnear he did a great job as an annoying poltergeist. Also it was awesome that Asif Mandvi (from the Daily Show) was in this movie.
I think that even if you are not a romantic comedy fan you will still like this movie you just might not want to see it with a bunch of friends.
This movie looked funny from the previews so I was expecting a good movie and what I got was a great movie! This lifted my spirits as a moviegoer since the prior few weeks had given me nothing but crap movies, so I was relieved to see something actually worth seeing.
This is a crazy story about two people that get a hold of some CIA documents and try to extort a CIA member for money to get them back. The CIA is not very interested because its not that important of information. There is also a crazy love deboggle going on between many of the different characters in the movie that is disturbing and at the same time hilarious.
The story was interesting and I love the cast, George Clooney plays a overly suspicious womanizer, Brad Pitt is a dopey fitness trainer, and John Malkovich is an angry alcoholic CIA agent. I really like John Malkovich but he always seems to play the same type of character in every movie, which is my only gripe for this one.
I was not that interested in seeing this movie in the first place but a bunch of my friends wanted to see this so I went along hoping in would not be as bad as I expected it to be. Amazingly it was worse than I thought!
While I admit to liking some Vin Diesel Movies...I am tired of the role he plays in every one, aloof badass that doesn't want to be a hero but ends up having to be.
There was no continuity in this movie what so ever! It seems that every scene jumped whole days at a time, that would be fine if there had been some explanation to the jumps but they were just to random.
The girl is some experiment for a new religion that is just as kooky and ridiculous as Scientology! immaculate conception, and multi- racial twins are just a few of the crazy things that happen in this movie.
I am sick and tired of the shaky cam being used for every fight scene in every movie I would like to see what is going on for gods sake! Oh and the most annoying thing about this movie is why bother to make someone half bionic and never show how much more awesome he should be now!
This movie was terrible but I will admit that after a point it just became funny which I don"t believe was the intent of the movie so that is why I gave is such a poor score.
There are many things for people to be offended by from this movie but I believe that was the intention.
The retard role did get annoying after the second time and I have heard that people got very offended by the retard jokes. I have not heard anyone getting offended by Robert Downey Jr. in Blackface, but I bet there are some people out there.
all in all this movie was very funny with a great cast and tons of funny moments that kept me laughing throughout the whole movie. It's a comedy so please don't take is seriously and get offended that will ruin the movie for you.
Even Tom Cruise did a good job at channeling his crazy for the role he played in this movie!
definitely a movie to see but not necessary to see in the theaters.
oh and probably not a good movie for the kids...
she has a cute little nub for a tail and likes to howl (because that often gets her some donuts)oh and she is afraid of cats! hahahahaha
I was not that impressed with the first Hellboy but this one was much better!
The story was more interesting than the first one and you find out more about Hellboys' past.
The creatures were amazing. Some of them I wonder even how someone came up with because they are so fantastical. When I heard that the people that worked on Pan's Labyrinth would be doing this movie that got me very excited because just like in that movie Hellboy had some amazing and visually stimulating creatures that can frighten and amaze you.
diffidently see this in the theater!
I have enjoyed almost every movie that Will Smith is in. Hancock was good but not his best movie. The previews for this movie left me with high expectations that this movie was going to be exciting and action packed. There are a few really good action scenes but the movie starts to drag a little about an hour in.
There are some interesting twists in Hancock, unfortunately they are very obvious to spot even before they are brought to your attention by the characters.
I really liked that Hancock was not your average superhero, yeah OK, he can fly and he is super strong, but he does not have this over the top sense of justice that most other superhero's have. He is kind of an asshole...(lol)
So first off, This is one of the best Pixar movies to date. The "what if" scenario is intriguing and scary to think about all at the same time. The humans over consumption and wateful nature has forced them to leave the planet. The humans are fat and lazy, they have everything done for them by robots, and are so blissfully oblivious to there surrounding from having everything they need handed to them or appear on a screen in front of them. But with the prospect of returning to earth to rebuild the humans are ready and willing for the challenge.
The animation was vivid and stunning, Pixar is an animation studio powerhouse, they never disappoint. I hope that they continue to rule American animation for a long time.
It was really cute, and a great movie to bring your kids to for the cuteness factor even if the do not understand the message.
The message that this movie brought has received a lot of outrage for the right, saying that it is, to quote Greg Pollowitz who wrote on NRO, "It was like a 90-minute lecture on the dangers of over consumption, big corporations, and the destruction of the environment. … Much to Disney’s chagrin, I will do my part to avoid future environmental armageddon by boycotting any and all WALL-E merchandise and I hope others join my crusade." Which is a load of crap, the message of the movie is not being shoved down your throats its a animated movie not "The Inconvenient Truth" all over again, STFU! This movie about a fanciful story about a "what if" situation that has a happy ending its not saying that this is what is going to happen you idiots!
sigh, now that I have kinda let my rage loose ( I could go on for much longer but there would be a lot more swearing and I am getting tired so bah! )
Ignore what all these idiots are saying because its a good movie and not one to pass up in the theaters.
But that does not mean that is was not just as funny as the series had been.
There had been tons of commercials for the movie in the months prior to the release which always annoys me because the commercials always show some of the best parts of the movie. Which kinda ruins the laugh factor when you have seen that bit a million times before actually watching the movie. But there were still some unexpected surprises that were really funny.
I said this when I say the first trailer for the movie and I still I was not disappointed, Steve Carrel was the best actor out there right now to play the role of Maxwell Smart and I love Anne Hathaway so I was happy to see her as Agent 99.
My only gripe with Steve Carrel's role as Max is that he knew what he was doing with almost every step, or that is to say meant to do what he did, which is very different than the Max from the series.
but the best thing about this movie was Patrick Warburton as Hymie because he is awesome!
This movie was funny and kinda nostalgic and I enjoyed it a lot.
I just saw a commercial yesterday for a DVD that about the adventures of Hymie that is coming out so I'm really excited to see that also.
This movie was really funny. There are some good life lessons in this movie like, believe in yourself. Even a rotund, hungry panda can save all of China from the evil leopard.
It is very cute seeing animals do Kung Fu. The Furious five amusingly all animals that there is a stance for like "Monkey stance" Kiya!
I don't understand though why all the animals that were villagers were either rabbits, pigs or ducks but whatever it was cute.
I'm not a huge fan of Jack Black because for some reason he always has to sing in any movie that he is in and it gets annoying but in this movie he was entertaining.
This is a great movie for the whole family so go check it out!
And yeah he actually did it was not a camera trick. I saw an interview with him and he talked about how he trained with a retired marine to get in shape for this movie.
When I saw the preview for this movie the first time almost 6 months ago it looked funny then and it was to a point. A lot of the jokes were from old SNL skits and often crude but all in all it was a funny Adam Sandler film.
I have seen the three old Indy's numerous times and what I really liked about this new one was that is was just as cheesy as the rest but still less cheesy than "Temple of Doom"
There is lots of dramatic actions scenes just like in the classic Indy films but what kind of surprised me is that they took this one a little more seriously than the previous three. I was kinda hoping they were going to go full on cheese but it was still good.
Harrison Ford is still awesome but you can't help but notice that Shia LaBeouf also gave a stellar performance and really made yo believe that he was Indy's kid with this spirit.
I really liked this movie but for some people this might be over the top in what they expected in an Indian Jones film but really what do you expect every Indiana films forces you to suspend disbelief just because this one seems some what more far fetched to people that the last three does not make it a bad movie. get over it and go and enjoy what could be the last Indiana Jones film ever!
This movie was awesome! some of my friends did not agree but they are Wrong!
I went into the theater knowing full well that this movie was going to be cheesy and thats what made this movie so fantastic.
There are some really insane racing scenes and even some ninjas! Crazy Technicolor flashing all over the screen is abound in this movie and I would suggest if you are epileptic be wary.
The over emphasized speech patterns are peppered in this movie which lets you know that this is intended to be cheesy like the cartoon came to be here in America.
The cheese factor of this movie was so immense in this movie but thats what I think most people expected from this movie if they new anything about the cartoon.
If Nascar racing was like the racing in this movie I would be at every race because its way more intense and insane than any that is plausible!
This is by far the best Marvel movie to date!
Robert Downey Jr. did a fantastic job as Iron Man. What I really liked about this movie is that you are not forced to suspend all disbelief in the characters actions. Iron Man is not like Superman, invincible unless you have a piece of glowing green rock with you, he is just a human in a freakin sweet metal suit.
The movie is set in the real world during modern time so there is no fictitious city that resembles New York and now crazy maniacal mad man trying to take over the world, just the weapons industry in America.
You don't have to know anything about the comic book series to enjoy this movie, but make sure you stay till after the credits!!
This movie starts right where the first on left off so if you have not seen White Castle see that before seeing this movie or you will lose out on some of the story.
This movie is less about stoner humor which was what most of the first one was and more racial humor and jabs at our current government. So if you don't appreciate that kind of humor this movie is not for you.
Neil Patrick Harris (Dougie Houser) is back and as messed up as ever which is awesome!
It's a fast passed movie that doesn't feel rushed which is good because it hold your attention with out making you feel that you missed something.
This was definitely better than the first but still see the first one before seeing this one.
I want into this movie thinking that it was either going to be really cheesy and like many of the kung fu movie of the 80's and it was! But that is not always a bad thing. Yeah there were some really cheesy parts of this movie (I was waiting for Jackie Chan character to teach the wax on wax off technique to Jason the Danial son of this movie) but they worked with this movie.
Jet Li and Jackie Chan did really well together and had an awesome old school kung fu fight "Praying Mantis is good for catching bugs but Tiger is better" or something like that.
If you were or are still a fan of the kung fu movie of the 80's you will really like this movie.
As a final thought, even though Jet Li and Jackie Chan did really good together I hope Jet Li sticks to serious movies because his laugh is so freakin creepy I don't know if I could handle a "High Noon" kind of movie with him in it.
This was a quirky and slap sticky romantic comedy but thats what I think most people have come to expect from the people that did the 40 year old virgin and knocked up.
I was happy when I heard that Kristin Bell was in this movie because I really like her and have been waiting to see her on the big screen in a movie that didn't suck.
There are lots of really funny moments in this movie and as its rated it is very much for adults unless you want your kids to see a hairy mans " twig and berry's " numerous times. If you are ok with them see that by all means bring them to the movie but you only have yourself to blame if the get nightmares about hairy man bits.
The anticipation for this movie was equal to peoples' skepticism that the movie would not do well in the theaters since the last Dr. Seuss movie 'The Cat in the Hat' was such a flop but this movie shone as the best Dr. Seuss adaptation to date.
The voice acting by fantastic, the animation fluid(other than the japanese anime portion which by the way was absolutely hilarious)
All around they stuck to the story which is good since its only about a 20 page book so there is no need to cut big chunks out so the movie will fit into a 2 hour time slot.
Jim Carrey was hilarious and I'm pretty sure that some of his parts were purely improv which made this movie even more exciting is that there was humor that adults would enjoy so this is a great movie for the whole family.
I think many people might think this movie is just another reincarnation of movies like the 'Italian Job' but they would be wrong! This movie had much more substance than many of the movies in the same genre e.g. 'Italian Job,''Oceans 12,' and 'Oceans 13'which with all there glamor have basically the same story.
'Bank Job' is based on a true story but I don't know how accurate to the original incident the movie is but even so its an interesting story with many twists and turns that keep the movie interesting and suspenseful. What I really appreciated is that they stuck to one time line instead of jumping all around like many other movies in the genre tend to do.
All around I think this is the best movie from the cops and robbers genre that I have seen in a really long time. I would defiantly see it again.
A movie with heart! This movie had the qualities of a classic comedy with a modern story of something that is happening all over America today.
So many neighborhood stores are going out of business in America because of the larger corporations that can sell the same product at a reduced cost but these large business are missing the friendly inviting atmosphere you get form a small neighborhood store.
The short remakes of blockbusters films the characters make are really funny and in some cases probably better than the original movie since they are condensed into a 20 min film. The response they get from the neighborhood is positive and you really get a feel for the people in this neighborhood. Everyone in the neighborhood gets involved which is the most endearing part of this movie. It just makes you feel good to see the people in this kinda rundown neighborhood happy.
This movie will give you the warm fuzzies and make you smile and remember the days before blockbuster and netfilx.
For being a kids movie this was really cute, but thats just this is really just a movie for children. There is not much to keep the attention of someone over the age of 14, except the animation which was visually stunning.
Bring the kids, they will laugh at the goblin with the pirate hat even if you don't
This movie was pretty good, and Hayden Christensen did not over act like many people say that he did as Anakin Skywalker in the Star wars movies. I thought that it was going to be a hit or miss kind of movie going into it and it was but concept of jumping from place to place was interesting enough and even when the action seemed a little ridiculous it still held my attention through the whole movie. There are some obvious plot holes but I suspect a sequel coming in the near future.
I had never heard of Saosin before the Projekt revolution tour. So I was unsure about if I would like them or not but they actually weren't have bad. There music was emo rock (which is not my favorite) the one thing I really liked about them is that not all there songs were about lost love or something like that which is my problem with most emo bands. I wouldn't mind seeing them again.
Across the Universe takes some of the Beatles greatest hits and blends them with some real history during the Vietnam War and does it quite well. This movie did a great job of picking the right songs from the expansive Beatles library that really fit the movies message.
There are also some cameos of well known stars like Bono from U2, Eddie Izzard, and Selma Hayek, which probably will help this movie get a larger audience. I bet this movie will end up being a cult classic.
This was a hilarious movie with all the witty, quirky humor that comes out of the British Isles. I was laughing through this whole movie and would defiantly see this movie again.
If you liked "The 40 year old Virgin" and "Knocked Up" then you are sure to like the newest movie by Greg Mottola, Superbad.
If you were like these guys in high school this movie just might bring back some fond memories (and maybe some not so fond ones also)but anyone can understand what this kids are going through.
parties, drinking, and sex, what most teenagers think about, it what this movie is all about.
Fantasy and fiction seem to be the big ticket movies this year and Stardust is no exception.I'm a big Neil Gaiman fan and this is one of my favorite books by him. The movie did seem to go by to fast for me but I had expected that since books that are turned into movies usually have to be cut to only fit the most important parts of the story.
The CG was really good and even breath taking at times and the actors did fantastic jobs playing the role the way they were in the book.
I was a little disappointed that they actually changed some parts of the story but the same thing happened to all the Harry Potters movies also so I'm use to it now.
The real unfortunate thing with this movie was that not enough people knew it was coming out they did a poor job marketing this movie especially since Harry Potter just came out last month and is still in the theaters. I would defiantly see this movie again and I plan to buy it when it comes to DVD. so goo see it you wont be disappointed.
The long awaited Simpsons movie is finally here and Homer is putting his family and friends in danger again.
If you watched the TV show then you will love the movie, there are appearances of almost every notable character from Mr. Burns to Willy.
You wont be disappointed with the classic jokes or the plot which takes a stab at the government. I recommend this movie to all Simpson's fans young and old you wont be disappointed. Watch out for Spider Pig though!
Harry and his friends are fighting evil again."Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" is the fifth installment of the now iconic Harry Potter series by J.K Rowling. This movie is the darkest one to date but don't worry its still kid friendly.
If you have not read any of the books or seen any of the other movies this one might be a little confusing because there are some holes in the story. This is the shortest Harry Potter movie to date but one of the longest books so I advise people that have read the book to watch with movie with out bias like I'm sure you have done for the preceding four movies, I know it hard I have a hard time doing it also but it would be impossible to fit the whole book into a movie that could be shown in the theaters.
The kids that have been playing Harry, Ron and Hermione (Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson) have been signed on to star in the final two movies also which is great because we have been able to see them grow up with the character they are portraying. One of the best new cast members for this movie was Imelda Staunton as Dolores Umbridge.
One of the other aspects of this movie that I think makes it the best Harry Potter movie to date was the improved computer graphics but there is still a downside to this movie since there are a lot of holes and unanswered questions but still as a whole it was a great movie and I cant wait till the next one comes out.
If you liked the cartoons then you'll really like this movie. Theres' lots of fast action and transforming, with the old battle of good vs. evil.
The only bad thing I have to say about this movie is that the viral advertising for Chevrolet got kinda annoying but other than that it was a movie that I would see again.
"Evan Almighty" the sequel to "Bruce Almighty" has funny man Steve Carell as a modern day Noah. Don't let the Biblical story fool you this is a funny modern take on the story of Noah's ark and even if you don't know the story you'll understand the message of family togetherness.
There were not as many joke in this one compared to "Bruce Almighty" but that is what made it better in my mind because the joke's were not just thrown in there to make it funnier.
Steve Carell and the rest of the cast did a great job of telling a universal story that applies to all and making it funny.
