Between the racism, bad jokes, groan worthy dialogue, confusing camera work, uninspired acting, tedious plot, and over load of exposition this movie managed to exceed my expectations of just how bad an expensive movie could be. If you like your movies as shallow as the Colorado River during a drought then this is the movie for you.

Alan Moore might not care, but his classic graphic novel has been made into a decent movie. Put aside the changes to the ending and the characters that didn't fit into the main plot and you are left with a super hero movie that looks into the more destructive and paradoxical corners of the human mind.

Whether you've read the novel or not you will undoubtedly appreciate the movie's focus on character development as opposed to pointless action. However, the fact that a watered down comic book has more emphasis on creating interesting and fleshed out characters then the majority of the movies coming out of Hollywood is a different story all together.

In summary, 4 stars! A good time out, but not the movie of the year.
