“A killer collaboration between three of New Orleans greatest players!" —Jan Ramsey, Offbeat Magazine
Joe Krown Trio some of the greatest New Orleans funk and R&B musicians! Joe Krown grooves hard on the Hammond B-3. Joe toured steadily with the legendary Gatemouth Brown. Joe is joined by Walter Washington “Wolfman" Washington, who has nothing but straight soul coming out of his guitar, and Russell Batiste on drums. That would be Russell Batiste, drummer in the Funky Meters. Yes- The Meters! Russell is one of the most powerful drummers in the music scene today.
Joe Krown (Hammond B-3 organ), Walter Wolfman Washington (guitar & vocals) & Russell Batiste (drums & background vocals) started playing together in March 2007. The trio has been performing every Sunday at a local New Orleans nightclub, the Maple Leaf Bar. The combination of the soulful vocals of Walter with the big sound of the Hammond B-3 (which Joe also plays all of the bass parts on the B-3) and the masterful drumming skills of Russell Batiste Jr. has developed it's own unique sound. The trio recorded and released a live CD, Live at the Maple Leaf in the fall of 2008. Live at the Maple Leaf captures the magic of these great musicians. Live at the Maple won a 2009 Offbeat Award for Best R&B/Funk CD. The trio also won a 2009 Big Easy Award in the “Best Rhythm & Blues Band" category. In the fall of 2010, the Trio released Triple Threat, the follow up to Live at the Maple Leaf and their first studio CD.

Whether or not he took advice from famed New Orleans Chef Emerill Lagasse, Okra's owner, decided to "Kick it up a Notch" this year by adding 400 more pounds of crawfish than last year's event.
A quarter-ton of live Louisiana "mud bugs" will be shipped in the morning of the fest. The crew will cook up a cajun creole crawfish concoction that will consist of boiled corn, potatoes, artichokes, Andouille Sausage, secret seasonings and 500 pounds of live crawfish!
There is no charge for the event and seating will be available outdoors on a first come basis.
An outside bar will serve plenty of cajun cocktails. And if crawfish don't appeal to your appetite, you can also enjoy Jambalaya, Gumbo, Andouille Sausage Po' Boy or Blackened Chicken Salad Sandwiches.
It's a New Orleans party at The Hamilton on Saturday March 17! Brother Joscephus and the Love Revival Revolution Orchestra is a 12-piece explosion of righteousness that blends New Orleans party music, soul music, a good helping of jam-bandy Roots Rock and a righteous splash of good, upbeat Gospel. Brother Joscephus and the Love Revival Revolution Orchestra blends New Orleans party music, Soul in the style of Ray Charles and Al Green, a good helping of jam-bandy Roots Rock and a righteous splash of good, upbeat Gospel without the religious overtones (They like to call it secular gospel).
In the group’s short history they have already made a big splash in the NYC music scene, sharing the stage with New Orleans stalwarts such as the Rebirth Brass Band, Trombone Shorty, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Bonerama, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, the New Orleans Klezmer All-Stars and Eric Lindell. They’ve sold out legendary venues such as the Highline Ballroom and BB King’s.
A Love Revival with Brother Joscephus is more than just excellent original live music. BroJo is also all about the spectacle and pageantry - it’s a life changing EXPERIENCE! The orchestra is decked out in their finest whites (accented with the appropriate gold, purple and green of Mardi Gras). They break out parasols, start each set with a parade through the audience and throw out hundreds of Mardi Gras beads over the course of a show. When the parade starts grooving the crowd can't help but have a good time. It's undeniable!!
