Are your kids looking for a great summer experience? Bring them to Camp Gilcrease. Classes are available for kids, ages 4 to 13 and feature interactive museum tours, gallery activities, outdoor exploring and lots of art making. Each week ends in a celebration art show as the young artists display their creations for family and friends to enjoy and marvel. Come be a part of the fun at Camp Gilcrease 2009.

Experience ways of recycling and reusing materials through the art production. Learn how and why people recycle, and how you and your family can do your part. How will you reuse thrown away materials in your artwork?

Gain a basic understanding of sculpture and painting, along with techniques it takes to succeed in both. Daily visits to look at artworks by artists such as Maria Martinez, Diego Rivera, Charles Banks Wilson and Frederic Remington will provide avenues for inspiration and creative growth.

Impressions of Flowers-Large and Small
Instructor: Adele Kraus
Learn drawing and painting techniques of the Impressionists, both European and American. Many Impressionist artists incorporated flowers into their artwork. Use a variety of paint and drawing materials to make your own bold flower paintings in the Impressionism style.

Recreating Museum Inspired Works of Art
Take one week or three in this set of classes that will introduce several different mediums, artistic styles and techniques. Discover the artist within yourself while searching out your favorite artist, technique and style. Emphasis will be given to the creative process from sketching to finished works. Reflective time and opportunities for peer discussion will be included.
