Jack London Commemorative Sierra Sled Dog Derby

This event recalls North Lake Tahoe’s sled dog heritage. The first sled dog race in the “lower 48” was held in Truckee in 1915 and attended by Jack London. Race classes include Ski-jor, Junior 2-dog Sprint, 3-dog Sprint, 4-dog Sprint, 6-dog Sprint, 8-dog Sprint and 6-dog Mid-Distance. Class starting orders depend on weather conditions. Spectators should park at Sugar Bowl Ski Resort where shuttle buses will provide transport to the race starting line in Soda Springs. 530-426-9000
