Joshua Slamp

What best describes the music of Joshua Slamp? One reviewer says he has "deep Lou Reed vocals" and "George Benson-like electric guitar riffs." This may seem like an odd blend, but given Slamp's love of singing and passion for blues/Jazz improvisation, it's not surprising.
After a decade spent performing in such notable acts as Mind Disciple, Feral Muthas and The Fetish Kings, Slamp embarked on a solo career in 2005. He released his self-titled debut, a work that draws on influences such as Jeff Buckley, Nick Drake, John Scofield and Pat Metheny. Indie-music.com describes his CD as "an eclectic mix... with a lush diversity" and dubbing it a "slamp-dunk".
Currently, Slamp is devoting his time toward live performance, a one-man show of dazzling improvisational guitar and captivating vocals.
