David Douglas: A Naturalist at Work

Saturday, Dec 21, 2013 10:00a to 5:00p

David Douglas: A Naturalist at Work studies the intersection of geography, science and cultural history through the work of the famed Scottish naturalist and his discovery of more than 200 species in the Northwest. The exhibit displays Douglas’ journals and observations of Native tribes, rare 19th century botanical books and his original pressed specimens, bird mounts, pelts and skins.
