New England Natives

These afterschool programs will provide an opportunity for interested kids to continue learning in a fun environment after their school-day is over! Afterschool Adventures are for children ages 6-10 years old and will run from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. on Thursdays – February through April.
**Please note, there will be no Afterschool program on February 20th or April 17th.
February
Winter is a difficult time for many animals in New England. Join us as we explore the different methods of surviving winter… Show more in a climate that varies so greatly throughout the season. We’ll learn how animals forage under the snow, regulate their body temperatures and switch their diets in order to survive the confusing New England winter.
March
Do you know that New England has some of the most interesting wildlife in North America? Spend some time with Zoo New England and learn about the habitats, adaptations and lifestyles of many of Stone Zoo’s native New England species.
April
Spring not only heralds the warm weather and longer days it also brings about many changes in our local ecosystems. Learn about the transformations that New England flora and fauna go through during the spring. We won’t forget to talk about all the babies of spring either, so come join us!
