The APEX Museum in Atlanta and the Dr. Ronald E. McNair. Foundation have come together to present "Breaking Barriers: African American Pioneers in Space." The exhibit highlights contributions made by Black Americans to science, space travel and the space program. The presentation is also in honor of the late black astronaut Ronald E. McNair., who was one of the seven crew members killed in the 1986 crash of the space shuttle Challenger. Other featured black astronauts are Guion Bluford and Mae Jemison.
