Ferguson Library Celebrates 50th Anniversary of The Feminine Mystique

Thursday, Mar 7, 2013 6:30p
Ferguson Library Stamford, CT

It was the book that challenged the notion of the 1950’s happy housewife, and sparked a new wave of feminism in this country. Betty Friedan’s The Feminine Mystique has been called a “groundbreaking” work that changed the consciousness of the world.
In honor of the 50th anniversary of this seminal work, University of Connecticut Adjunct Professor Michael Marotto will discuss the book’s cultural and historic implications.
Generously supported by the Friends of The Ferguson Library.
