WHAT: A one-time meeting of independent and small agency providers, professional associations, and client advocates to provide input on what mental health EHR information should be shared with primary care and other providers in a health information exchange (HIE).
The sole agenda item of this meeting will be to reach an agreement among those present on what specific client mental health information should be available for health information exchange.
The outcome of this meeting will be a short memorandum… Show more summarizing input from the assembled participants and stating their recommendation. This memorandum will be provided to the eHealth Advisory Committee as a “friend of the court” document.
Participants from Greater Minnesota are welcome and encouraged to join through web conferencing if unable to attend in person. WHO: We are extending this invitation to solo and small practice clinicians, representatives of community mental health agencies, professional organizations that represent these groups, and client advocacy groups. Additionally, Stratis Health, DHS and MDH staff will be invited.
Representatives of large health care providers, for-profit providers, EHR vendors, IT consultants and payers are not being invited so that attention can be focused upon information exchange needs in small outpatient behavioral health settings and the needs of consumers.
HOW: This meeting is not sponsored by the eHealth Advisory Committee or any organization, and no organization or agency has any authority or ownership of this meeting. We, the organizers of this meeting, are operating as individuals for the good of the independent and small mental health provider community . Time spent arranging this get together has been on a volunteer basis, and no gain, financial or otherwise, is expected. Northwest Area Foundation generously offers the use of their meeting space to any nonprofit or governmental organization so long as the meeting furthers the poverty reduction goals and mission of the Northwest Area Foundation.

Can I get technical advice about EHRs, the EHR mandate and IT for my private practice at this conference?
This meeting will focus exclusively on providing a recommendation to the eHealth Advisory Committee on what client information should be availabe in a health information exchange. Broader discussion such topics as the 2015 EHR mandate or technology and mental health will be set aside to stay on this one particular topic. However, networking around these or any other issues is encouraged.
