For our final mini wine class before the cold winds of Fall start to arrive, we present Sangiovese from Tuscany, but NOT Chianti. What does this mean?
Sangiovese is of course the great red grape of Tuscany and by law it composes a minimum of 80% of the blend for Chianti and its sub-appellations (Chianti Classico, Chianti Rufina, etc.). But Sangiovese is grown throughout the region of Tuscany, of course, and many of these wines are truly spectacular, as you'll experience.
