Year of the Dakota, Remembering, Honoring and Truthtelling

Dr. Chris Mato Nunpa will talk about the 150th anniversary of the Dakota-U.S. War of 1862 and its aftermath. The focus will be on crucial and significant events during the years 1862 and 1863 in the history of not only the Dakota People but also the state of Minnesota. Dr. Mato Nunpa is a Dakota elder and historian, a retired professor from Southwest Minnesota State University and a Community Faculty member at Metropolitan State University.
