Jay Alan Babcock: "Pattern/Recognition" Opening Reception
SOHA Studio + Gallery presents St. Louis artist Jay Alan Babcock. Babcock's drawings and paintings use pattern and repetition of recognizable portrait schemes to explore themes of individual identity, group affiliation, and the accidental forces and deliberate choices that shape each of us. Evocations of data, algorithms, genetic diagrams, and conventions of portraiture examine the burden of separate identification in a world of seven billion people. Exhibit runs through 10/26.
