1863 St. Louis Historic Fourth of July
On Sat., July 6, to honor Independence Day and the foundation of the 62nd Regiment of the United States Colored Infantry in the Civil War, the Old Courthouse will host a free living history re-enactment of St. Louis’ July 4, 1863, celebration. Visitors can vote in the 1863 city elections, pay their 1863 taxes and become a naturalized citizen. Union soldiers will enlist volunteers for the new African-American regiments and train them in the Drill of the Soldier.
